Experience the magic of Hood Canal at our Hood Canal House!  Offering all the best of a waterfront vacation on the Hood Canal, here you'll find comfortable, spacious accommodations with all the comforts of home, incredible views, a beach teeming with the Canal's famous oysters and clams, and more.  Located between Belfair and Union on the coveted South Shore of Hood Canal, the Hood Canal House is only 1 1/2 hours from Seattle, whether you come by car or ferry.  Our home is fully equipped for your stay--just load up the kids and the boat, some clothes, and swing by the grocery store on the way! 

The floorplan, including 4 bedrooms (sleeps 10) and 3 baths, gives you plenty of space to gather or find a cozy place to curl up and read.  The main living level of this spacious home includes:  2-car garage, full kitchen with granite countertops, stainless appliances, tile floor; dining nook & table; living room with fireplace, additional dining/game table, and computer; master bedroom (king) with full bath; second bath; media room; and laundry facilities.

On the upper level are the other three bedrooms (all with a view of the Canal)--one with queen and 2 twin beds, second bedroom with king, third bedroom with 2 twin beds--the third bath, and a sitting/reading room.   

A getaway at Hood Canal is all about the water...guests are welcome to use the dock and a rowboat.  The owners invite you to help yourselves to the plentiful supply of oysters, clams and mussels during your stay (license required--check the Department of Fish & Wildlife website at http://wdfw.wa.gov for details about seasons, limits, tides, etc.).  If you tire of shellfishing, give fishing or crabbing a try.  Never had a Hood Canal dungeness crab?  You're in for a treat--these sweet, succulent crab are world famous!  Boaters, kayakers, jet skiers, and kite boarders enjoy their sport at this quiet end of the Canal without the crowds.  Our 80 degree summer days warm the waters making swimming here the best you'll find in Puget Sound.  Appreciators of wildlife will enjoy the antics of otters and seals, the majestic flight of eagles, the fishing finesse of the blue heron, and tireless activity of kingfishers and many other birds and ducks.

Many of our guests are content to stay right here during their stay.  There's also plenty to do for the more curious and adventurous...you'll find wonderful dining and more at the nearby Robin Hood Resort and Restaurant and Alderbrook Resort & Spa.  Enjoy hiking and birding at the Theler Wetland Trails or Twanoh State Park, or head to the Olympics for more serious hiking.  The Tahuya State Forest is well known for its challenging off-road vehicle trails, and you can enjoy world-class golfing and scenery at several local golf courses.  Hoodsport Winery, chainsaw carving, casinos, antique shops and gift stores--all close by. 

After a day on the water or exploring, you'll want to hit the deck to wind down, cook up your "catch" on the BBQ, and take in the fabulous sunsets for which Hood Canal is famous.  Aaahh...and you get to do this again tomorrow!  As the sun sets behind the Olympics, you'll tell yourself "I'm coming back here."

No smoking; no pets.  3-night minimum stay.  Rental rate is for up to eight people; extra charge of $20/person/night up to maximum of ten people.  One-week rentals only July and August.  Reservations require a 50% deposit to confirm; final payment is due 30 days before you arrive.  Payment may be made with personal check or VISA/MasterCard for an additional 2% processing fee.  In case of cancellation, reservations are refundable minus $150 rebooking fee.  Rates do not include $325 refundable security deposit, $125 cleaning fee, and 10.4% sales/lodging tax.
