This charming log cabin, originally an oyster farm built over 100 years ago, has been upgraded and updated to provide you with all the comforts of home.    Gladwin Beach House sits on the North Shore of Hood Canal; it faces east on what many call "the sunny side" of the Canal.  We're located at the end of Hood Canal, where the waters are warm enough to swim and play in when the tide comes in over the tide flats, a rarity in Puget Sound. 

The living room is cozy and comfortable with a river rock fireplace, french doors and a beautiful view of Hood Canal.  This home is fully furnished for 8 guests--towels, bedding, dishes, tableware, dish towels, pots and pans are provided. Sleeping accommodations include four cheerful bedrooms--two with queen beds, one with a king bed, one with a twin bed, and additional sleeping on a twin daybed in the living room. There are also two mats which are comfortable with sleeping bags, especially for the kids. The dining table seats 6 to 8 comfortably; an additional game table seats four. Other amenities include:  a Weber propane barbeque, washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, and dishwasher, and hot tub.  The owners have also graciously provided basic spices and condiments, dishwasher detergent, bath soap, shampoo/conditioner, laundry detergent, paper napkins & paper towels, and toilet paper. You'll also find board games, decks of cards, and books for relaxing.   During summer months, a row boat, kayak and life vests are available for your use.  Put the kayak in the water and explore the Theler Wetlands and Union River Estuary.  Take a nature hike, mountain bike nearby trails, fish, dig clams or pick oysters, or just  enjoy the quiet and picturesque views...life here is about the water.  At the end of your day, enjoy a sing-along at the firepit while roasting marshmallows and telling stories.

The beauty and allure of the Canal doesn't go away after summer...the picture just changes.  In the winter, you'll discover that the moon and stars are definitely brighter here, away from the city lights, as you relax in our hot tub.  Watch the resident wildlife put on their show--there are many species of water birds including blue heron and ducks.  Majestic bald eagles soar overhead while seals sun themselves on the floats.   

At Gladwin Beach, you're just two miles from nearby Belfair with QFC and Safeway grocery stores, video store, restaurants, gas stations, liquor store, post office, and licensing location where you can purchase a fishing or shellfish license.  We invite you to come visit and make some memories at Gladwin Beach House.  We think you'll be back... 

No smoking.  Your well-behaved pet is welcome here with a pet fee of $25/night/pet.  Nonaggressive breeds only; prior approval required.  Please be considerate of our home and yard, and friends and neighbors nearby--you must supervise and clean up after your pet, and your pet must be leashed and confined to our yard when outside.

Reservations require 50% deposit to confirm; final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.  Payment may be made with personal check or VISA/MasterCard (2% processing fee is applied).  In case of cancellation, reservations are refundable minus a $150.00 rebooking fee as long as we can rerent the unit.  If we are unable to rerent the unit, the reservation is nonrefundable.

Three night minimum stay.  Rates listed above are for up to 8 people.  There is a $25.00 a night charge for each person over 8, up to a maximum of ten people.  A $250.00 refundable security deposit is required and $100.00 cleaning fee.  Rates do not include 10.4% sales/lodging tax.
